Rehearsals

A few comments by our membership about Calliope rehearsals :

"I just wanted to say that I'm really loving working with this group - it's exactly what I have been looking for, and your method of working is the kind of thing I love...."

"I thought the orchestra sounded good, and you have obviously picked a group of talented musicians....Some phrases of the first movement [as Faure has written them] are so powerful I feel like they make the hair stand up on my neck..."

"I wanted to share my perspective as a listener at the end of rehearsal last night. I was outside the rehearsal hall when you went over the first movement again. The group sounded quite good, but with a few tuning issues, especially in the cadences. After isolating certain sections, allowing the singers to really hear what was going on, the tuning was enormously improved and I couldn't believe how stunning the sound was when the group all sang together again. The cadence at the end of the first page was beautifully in tune, haunting and vibrating with overtones."

"I have to say that I'm really starting to like the Faure. I have to admit the first time I listened to the piece I didn't know if I would like it - now - I know I do. Working with it as we did last night - I am getting more and more comfortable. I can't wait to hear the chorus with the instrumentalists."

"I would be glad to help in the Mentoring [Scholarship] Program. I actually developed my love for choral singing in the same fashion."

"You were right that when you walk around & listen,
the ensemble sounds GREAT! I got chills a few times
last night when I was listening :) "

"I saw your ads on the train, very nice!"
