As a nonprofit cultural organization, Calliope relies on volunteer services to fulfill its mission of sharing classical music in a wholly collaborative environment. Most of these services relate directly to our concert programming: we’re looking for people who would prefer to remain behind the scenes, helping out with market and administrative work, and “working the floor” on the day of a show, either at the box office or as an usher.
Calliope also operates under the guidance of a volunteer board of directors. We are currently looking for Bostonians with affiliations in the arts and in business, who love classical music and want to see it continue to flourish in the city, to sit on our board. Our Directors focus on Calliope’s development as an institution: board meetings center on ways to promote Calliope, both to the public and to generous patrons of the arts in Boston. We therefore especially desire members who will seek out development opportunities around the city, and who will invest their time and energy to ensure that Calliope takes root in Boston’s cultural garden. If you are interested in serving on Calliope’s board, please contact JuliaROToole@gmail.com for more information.
